One of my new year promises to myself is to make time. One of the things I’m making time for is my son – more quality time and memories! Another is time for myself. And one way to achieve that is taking care of my body.
I’ve made my appointments and I’ve been taking self care seriously. One thing that is always easy to neglect is working out. At the beginning of the day? I’ll do it later. At the end of the day? Oh I’m tired! Well I’m done with the excuses. I’m taking charge and doing what I need to for my body.
This week I am working on a combination of workouts I’ve found on my favorite place: Pinterest. If you have the chance, check out my Pinterest for copious amounts of inspiration. I like to start off doing cardio and then I’ve been sprinkling in some simple workout routines. Couple that with some lifting here and there and yoga to work all the muscles, I have been feeling great.
Of course, I’ve hit a slump here or there in the last month but it feels good to be making some progress. It feels good to get my blood flowing. It feels good to show my son that taking care of yourself should be a priority. It feels good to built up and encourage others to do the same.
