Over the last week, I have been rushing. Every single thing I’ve been doing, I feel like I’ve been trying for a new record. How fast can I accomplish this goal? Can I still make it pretty? Will all of this effort be worth it? It’s been a taxing time to say the least. I honestly wouldn’t have made it without a bit of vacation time.
After all of that, it was put on my heart to slow down. Enjoy the moments, Missi! But it’s a constant battle to do that. It’s something I talk about often. Yet, it is just not easy. It’s not easy to stop and spend adequate time with your kid or take care of yourself or make sure you and your spouse have enough time together to build your relationship or make time for friends and family or be creative or so on and so forth.
So today, I chose to be thankful for all things but especially my kid and my cat. My kid is a ray of sunshine. I’m so excited for him to start kindergarten and so is he. But I will miss his daily prompts to seek joy and happiness. I will miss his love and companionship. I will miss his bright outlook on life. I will miss these things he possesses that I once saw in myself. But I know he is excited and ready to learn and I’m excited to see how this kid will change the world.
Do you know you can change the world? We all can. Be kind. Love one another. Lift each other up. Try to understand and not judge others. I’m also grateful in life to have found a partner that loves and supports me and believes we can change the world. Do you see how gratitude is important and how it can spread?
I’m grateful for my Bella cat. She is a feisty, spitfire and I wish I was her. She is sure of herself. She is sassy, almost to a fault. She is beautiful, kind, and loving. And she is never apologetic for who she is. I admire the confidence she has and I strive to be like that.
At the end of the day, slow down, friend. Find solace in the fact that you are doing your best and your best is awesome! You are you and don’t forget! Keep striving to be your best self and you’ll achieve it. Look for inspiration everywhere and if you don’t see what you need, find a way to surround yourself with it!
